Most all money calculators on this site have a downloadable demonstration program (demo). They're free, but they are also all non-functional (you have to buy them to get them to work). They don't calculate numbers because the input cells are protected and most are the actual spreadsheets saved without the formulas to make them much smaller. The reason is, because it's modular, people could use the programs for an hour, get the information they need, and then they wouldn't need to buy anything.

Most programs have other documents that go with them. Only the demo downloads are on this page. To get the other associated files, please go here.

If you're getting various "password" errors when trying to open an Excel spreadsheet, then you may not have MS Excel (you probably just have MS Works). It's normal to get a password dialog box once programs are open and you try to edit the contents of the cell.

You'll need Excel to use most of these financial plan modules, although the demos and the software will also work using Lotus or QuattroPro.

If you can get the spreadsheets to open up in your Mac, then the actual programs will also work fine. To see, just go to Start, All Programs, and see if you have MS Excel loaded on your computer.

Even though these financial planning programs are all separate modules (spreadsheets), they integrate (share data) just like other investment software. Click here to read about financial plan software integration and how to integrate these financial planning software modules.

Read how to print protected Excel spreadsheets. If you try to print any of the demos from Internet Explorer, or you just click Print in Excel, it won't work well. Sorry, but to preserve content, the demos are password protected and you have to do this to print. The PDF files of the sample financial plan is similar, and print better than the demos.

How to Operate the Free Demonstration/Evaluation Programs

Start at the far left sheet tabs. Financial planners would print and present these result pages to clients. The input sheets are generally in the middle, and the calculation sheets are to the right.

Change the view magnification on your monitor so the yellow text boxes are big enough to read comfortably and there are no numbers that look like this: ###### (View, Zoom, change the number). If that doesn't work, then you'd need to make the column or row sizes bigger, which you probably won't be able to do because of the protection.

All you do is look it over and read all of the yellow text boxes (if there are some).

Use the up and down scroll bars to view all of the yellow text boxes.

When you're done looking at one sheet, use <control page down>, or click on the sheet tab at the bottom left, to review the other sheets.

That's about all you can do.

Download the Demos

For downloads, right click on a link below, then choose "Save (Target) As..." to save to a folder on your hard drive. Then open it with MS Word or Excel. Sometimes the WPP's server doesn't work well with weird browsers, or it just may not work if it's not configured right. Please send e-mail if you have any problems, and it will be sent to you
