Most all money calculators on this site have an associated downloadable demonstration program (demo). They're all free, but they're also non-functional, so you'll have to purchase to get them to work. Most are the actual spreadsheets saved without the formulas. The reason for this, is because it's modular. We sell to consumers too, so they like using the programs for an hour to get the information they need, and then don't need to buy anything. Offering temporary trial versions had the same results. Things are also this way so you can see exactly what you'll get, without giving the farm away for free. The copyrights, notes, arrows, and text boxes shown are usually not on the actual programs. They're just to show off features and to scare off competitors thinking they can copy things and sell them. As an advisor, you can delete the copyrights off of everything so your clients won't be coming to this site. Demos were converted to Excel '07 format in Jan '12. We recommend getting Excel 2010 for too many reasons to count. You can get it in the Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student suite that also has the new Word and PowerPoint for ~$50. You can find this at most all office supply stores (most computer stores, Best Buy, sometimes Target, etc.). If you're still using Excel or Word '03 then you're operating in the Stone Age with primitive and broken programs, and really need to upgrade ASAP. Them "moving stuff around" via ribbons is annoying, but well worth the learning curve. Directions, answers to frequently asked questions, and general information about demos are here. Download the Free Excel Spreadsheet Demos To download a demo, right click on a link below, then choose "Save (Target) As..." to save to your hard drive. Then find it and open with Excel. These four are the free financial calculators that have limited functionality for a limited time (the rest don't function at all), and are the best way to see if our personal finance software works on your Mac. If it says "expired," then they'll still work on your Mac, just wait a few hours for them to be reset: Free Bond Yield to Maturity Calculator ______________________________ The following demos are part of the fully-integrated financial planner (the free example financial plan PDF is here). If you want to see a retirement plan showing the simple concept of running out of money, with cash flow deficits, then these are the two demos that show that: Current RP demo and the main IFP module. All of the other retirement software demos have complex asset structures that don't show this very well. The following financial plan modules don't have regular demos because it would be too easy to copy for free: Financial Plan Fact Finders, Investment Policy Statement, Fee-based Client Contract Agreement, Financial Planning eBook, and Tri-Fold Marketing Brochure.
